Pictures on the beach

We had so much fun at the beach, we couldn't get all the pictures onto a single (reasonably sized) blog post. So here is round 2!!
The sun was a bit intense come family picture time, but we decided to "grin and bear it."
We did get some pretty good candid pics of the kids in the sand, which was fun.

Not sure what is going on here, but often it's better not to ask when Dad gets "in the zone."
Our little bug is turning into quite the little lady.  Scary.  Seriously.

It doesn't matter if you've been to the beach once or hundreds of times.  The call of the perfect seashell collection will continue to beckon like a sultry siren in the sand.
We did get to visit one of the more recognizable N.C. lighthouses.  Again, we got to climb to the top (except Mom and Evaleigh) and enjoy the beautiful views and sea breeze at the top.
Though someone got a little tired and was upset when we wouldn't get him the foam Future Park Ranger hat that, incidentally, was too small for his adult-size head.
Maybe a little sweaty, but still enjoying the stairs!
We were especially fond of this picture on the beach.  What a fun family (if I do say so myself)!!

This one is always game for a little fun.

Seriously.  Can't someone just decide they should pay me to live at the beach.  I could handle that job.  No problem.  Beautiful, even on cloudy days.
Again, no complaining from this little character.
Duck has a long boardwalk on the sound-side of the city.  A leisurely stroll, some little shops to pique our interest, and even the fresh market to get a yummy Clambake to go.  Pretty yummy!
We did find this guy catching crabs off the dock.  We walked down to watch him pull this little guy out of the water (he's running down the ramp, but really small).  The kids loved the idea of throwing a hot dog in the water and pulling out a crab!

We had such a good time!  We're going to miss the NC beaches if we ever leave.  But don't worry! I'm pretty sure we'll be coming back for more!
