A couple of days after getting home from the beach we were ready to celebrate some more! Coleson took treats to share with his class, which he handed out after doing his beach presentation and giving each of his classmates a shark's tooth.
Coleson's Birthday happens to be "talk like a pirate day." So, just like last year, we dressed up (except this year ALL of them dressed up, not just Coleson) and went to Krispy Kreme. EACH kid was given their own dozen donuts (even Evaleigh!) She was pretty good at making "pew. pew" sounds with her "stick gun" that Coleson found for her and at saying "arrrr," so I guess she earned her dozen too :)
We set half of them aside to share with his baseball team the next day as birthday treats.
The other 2 dozen turned into an excellent "donuts mountain cake" where his moose, bear and fox could live. And the leftover taco cake "lettuce" made excellent grass. (I love how thrilled with low-key things this kid can get!)Then we opened presents and apparently we all thoroughly enjoyed reading each card! Coleson is such a grateful kid, he seems to always be the first one to thank us over and over again for things we did together (even if it's just playing a game or reading a book at home). He LOVES to make Evaleigh laugh and she idolizes him! They are fun to watch together. He also loves to make lots of other people laugh, which is great most of the time, but it can get him into trouble at church or in the classroom :). We are grateful to have his optimistic outlook and his sweet concern for others in our home! We love Coleson!
