We also went to tennis once or twice a week--but I guess I forgot to take any pictures...
And we spent LOTS of time outside--riding bikes, blowing bubbles, sidewalk chalk drawing, taking care of our babies...Watching spiders create webs...
Evaleigh had a little friend over to play ("Mem-Ma") and they were walking from the front to the back yard to go on the slide (while I quickly went through the house to unlock the back door and meet them at the gate, which had also been locked). Emma ran through the gate and to the playground. But, Evaleigh came to a dead stop part way to the gate. She looked kind of nervous, but was still smiling, so I asked her if something was wrong and asked her to come with me into the back to sit with me so I could talk to her. She started slowly walking backwards, looking towards the corner, while singing the Itsy-Bisty Spider song--one of her all time favorites! (bee-ta, bee-ta, bee-ta--with her fingers looking like a spider going up the spout...OWwn, OWwn, OWwn--as she lowers her arms like the rain coming down). I looked in the corner and discovered what she was so nervous about:
This spider was HUGE and had a very cool looking web from the side of the house to the back fence--covering the entire corner that she was fixated on. Apparently she likes the song a bit better than the real life spider in action. So I went and picked her up and brought her through the backyard and away from the spider.
Then the rain came back...and it rained a LOT. (No, the left corner of our backyard is not a pond.)
